Marriage Services at ISNS
Tasks to complete before the sacred marriage (Nikah) ceremony
- To perform an Islamic marriage through ISNS, you MUST either have a legal marriage license or a legal marriage certificate issued by Cook County Clerk’s office.
- Obtain and bring the Marriage License from the Cook County Clerk’s office. (This may be different than the county where bride or groom live.)
- The original Marriage License need to be present at the marriage ceremony for the IMAM (Marriage Officiant) to fill out and sign.
- Payment for the Nikah services at ISNS is $600 and an additional $400 security deposit refundable subject to the premises left clean as before. Total Nikah Service Fees is $1000 to be paid upfront for this option.
- Payment for the Nikah services outside of ISNS premises is $600 and an additional $100 to cover the travel and associated time involved (Outside ISNS means within Chicagoland). Total Nikah Service Fees is $700 to be paid upfront for this option.
- Payments can be made via the following methods(Please include the groom’s name and Nikah date in the memo.)
- Checks – payable to ISNS.
- Zelle – donate@isns.org
- Online – credit or debit card (at the end of this form)

License Timelines and Restrictions
- The Marriage License is effective one day after issuance & valid for 60 days thereafter.
- You will receive your ISNS Marriage Certificate after the Nikah ceremony is performed.
- You MUST return the ISNS-issued Marriage Certificate to the Cook County Clerk’s Office within 10 DAYS after
the ceremony, either by mail or in person, to obtain the official government Marriage Certificate.

- State Identification Card
- Passport
- United States Resident Alien Card
- If a legal guardian is giving consent, a certified copy of the Guardianship papers MUST be shown.

Terms & Conditions
To have a marriage ceremony at ISNS, you MUST reserve the facility in advance. The ceremony can take place in either the prayer hall or the meeting room.
The facility must be left clean and free of all leftover food, trash, or personal belongings. Failure to clean the space will result in ISNS hiring a professional cleaning service, with the cost deducted from your security deposit.
